Another reason why it’s an effective at adding muscle to your body is because you will be using multi-joint exercises as well. Instead of isolating specific muscles, such as the chest, arms and back, you will be utilizing these multi-joint exercises that will have a primary muscle group that they are working and also one or more secondary muscle groups that will get worked at the same time.

The real key to doing this type of exercise effectively is the rest period that comes inbetween your workouts. Instead of hitting the gym on a regular basis and working out three or four times a week, you will work it one time every week and then rest an entire week before going back at it again. Since your muscles grow whenever you’re at rest, this gives your body the opportunity to grow to the maximum extent possible and you will be ready for another workout by the time you hit the gym again.
